Get to know the photographer

Hey, y'all!!! My name is Alexa! Thank you for being here! I've always loved family photography. I received my first camera in high school and never looked back. At first it started out as a hobby. I loved taking photos of my family just hanging out or bringing my camera to my nephew's basketball games. Even back then, I knew how important those moments were. Looking back, I'm so happy I took those photos  because they have become some of my favorite memories!

As I continued taking photos as a hobby, I graduated from McKendree University with my master's in Special Education. I taught 3rd grade for 5 years before I decided to take a break (which is where I'm at currently!) to raise my daughter, Hattie. While I miss those moments in the classroom, it has been wonderful watching my daughter grow up right in front of my eyes.

After having Hattie, I realized even more so just how important it is to take the photos. My camera roll reminds me how fast time flies, and it makes me want to hold onto each small, simple moment so delicately. I would absolutely LOVE to be able to do that same thing for you and your family.
